It may be that their bite is incorrect, and that may be causing excessive wear. It might also be causing them pain. If an adult's bite is not correct, adults could continue to suffer from pain, especially if their bite is affecting their jaw. In some cases, adults might have problems with tooth spacing that requires them to get braces.
