3M™ Clarity ceramic braces are an updated, modern take on traditional braces that many of our patients love. They love them because:

They Are Smaller: The 3M brackets are about 30% smaller in size than traditional brackets. This means that there is more of the natural tooth showing, and less space for food debris to get stuck.

They Have a Lower Profile: By low profile, we mean that they are smaller in depth, they stick out less from the tooth. This may seem insignificant, but one of the biggest complaints from patients with braces is the metal catching on cheek and gum tissue causing nicks and cuts. This lower profile feature reduces the likelihood of soft tissue cutting on the bracket.

They Are Closer to Your Teeth in Color: Sometimes referred to as clear, they are actually a translucent ceramic in color, which is very similar to the shade of your teeth with a stain resistant coating. This biggest advantage here is that they are not metal in coloring, meaning they hide so much more in your mouth. Numerous patients have reported that most people don’t even notice that they have braces. The shading helps them disappear in your mouth, providing an invisible, or clear appearance.

The Bracket Is Designed to Be Self-Ligating: This means that the bracket holds the wire, verses rubber bands that traditionally hold the wire in place. This feature allows for less friction between the wire and the braces and faster tooth movement. Teeth move faster because the braces are free to slide along the wire. Patients love it because this design allows for greater freedom of tooth movement with less discomfort.

Easier Bonding and Removal: The 3M design uses a different bonding agent that is faster to place, easier to remove, and with less damage to your teeth. This means less time in the chair! |
